Charity at Broughton Hall

The Tempests of Broughton Charities have a long history over many centuries ranging from building churches and schools to more recently Mrs Janet Tempest’s lifetime work with Mother Teresa’s Missionaries of Charity.

The Charitable Trust donates regularly to a wide range of causes on behalf of the Broughton Hall Estate and its community. It also supports a number of charities through providing Estate Facilities for them to use.

Broughton Hall has hosted numerous charity events and runs in the Parkland over the years. These range from St Vincent de Paul Summer Camps to the Race For Life. Mother Teresa Missionaries of Charity, Little Sisters of the Poor and the Knights of Malta are among other Christian and Catholic beneficiaries. We are currently restoring an historic bridge for the Ampleforth Monastic Community.

After a recent Top Gear Charity Dinner raised substantial funds for the charity, Roger Tempest delivered and has been doing voluntary work in Rio De Janierio in January 2015 for the homeless.
